Key Responsibilities:
The position of Operations Manager is aimed at taking a person with marine
operations skills and experience, and developing this individual into an effective member of the fleet & crew management team, which will require significant management capabilities as well as the ability to deal with strategic issues.
Who we are looking for:
The Operations Manager will assist the General Manager in his responsibilities, in which include:
-Leading the general day-to –day management of the towage operation.
-Providing support, direction and engaged/visible leadership for over 90 sea staff in 3 operating environments.
-Recruitment & selection of sea staff.
-Monitoring operational expenditure to ensure aligned/on target with forecasts.
-Ensuring the highest level of safety and quality standards are being met (ISM/ISO).
-Acting as a primary contact for customers and clients.
-Identifying, reducing and monitoring the risks which can threaten the safety & sustainability of crew and operations.
-Occasionally or frequently traveling to attend national and international meetings, conferences, Regional/Group functions, etc.
-Providing logistical support for crew changes/shiftings as needed.
-Providing timely reports as required, outlining key financial, commercial, operational, and technical development.
-Monitoring regulatory environment (local, national, flag state) to ensure company remains ahead of compliance curve.
Qualifications:
-Minimum Education: University Business degree Min 5 – 7 years of maritime-related experience (towage or offshore preferred).
-Previous management experience in both blue and white collar environments preferred.
-Good leadership and interpersonal skills, with initiative, prepared to make a difference and wear different hats in a small team.
-Self starter and ability to manage manage multiple tasks.
-Strong English language skills a must.
